This section outlines the accessibility features as well as guidance on how they are used.

Standard compliance

This site was developed in line with the Priority Levels 1 & 2 (WCAG 1 – AA) of the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) guidelines, part of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

A&N International Media will strive to maintain these standards employing best practice techniques where certain Priority 1/2 checkpoints have become outdated.

The WCAG 1.0 explains how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities. Conforming to these guidelines makes the web a more user-friendly place for everyone.

Design

The website, wherever possible, conforms to the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.

The site’s XHTML 1.1 mark-up and cascading style sheets (CSS2) have been validated using the W3C's validation service.

Alt tags have been used where images appear throughout the site, while semantic mark-up has also been used wherever possible.

Navigation

The website navigation is provided in text for improved readability, which is also accessible using a screen reader.

Screen resolution

This website has been optimised and is best viewed at a minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768, with a maximised web browser window.

Colours and contrast

We have considered the needs of users who are colour blind by selecting colour combinations with sufficient contrast between foreground and background.

High contrast colours have been used to ensure legibility.
